Lately I think a lot about women.
Women that God had in mind when He designed Eve and women that are today's, so called, 'modern women'.
I think about women that are abused and mistreated, whether in India, Africa or in West Europe or USA. Yesterday, on the news they said that every second woman in Italy is facing some kind of violence. I don't think that my country is much different.
And I think about women who have very low and twisted opinions about what it means to be a woman. I think about women who thinks that are valuable only if they look like a super model, who value life through possessions, etc. I was in a shopping center taking pictures of people who were visiting the center and it were mainly women WOMEN AT THE MALL. The manikins in the windows are of female gender, on the billboards are women, and the sales person is a woman, and the buyers are women...
We had an opening of exhibition in my hometown gallery and there are drawings of women and men posing naked. I think about artists, mainly man, who experience women only as a hanger for tits and butts...
And it all influenced my paintings lately.
I wonder what do you see when you look at the mirror?
